Self Recuperative Burners

Recover exhaust heat. Reduce fuel use. Fit smarter into compact furnace spaces.

Encon Self Recuperative Burners integrate heat recovery within the burner itself.

By using hot flue gases to preheat incoming combustion air, they help reduce fuel consumption, improve thermal efficiency and support lower-emission industrial heating.

Designed for furnace applications where space is limited, they offer a compact, efficient alternative where conventional regenerative burner systems may not be practical.

Fuel Reduction

How It Works

A smarter way to use heat already being produced.

In many furnace applications, valuable heat leaves the system through exhaust gases.

A self recuperative burner captures part of that heat and transfers it to the incoming combustion air before firing. This preheated combustion air reduces the amount of fresh fuel required to reach the desired process temperature.

The result is better fuel efficiency, lower operating cost and reduced greenhouse-gas emissions — depending on furnace temperature and process parameters.

Engineering Advantage

Compact heat recovery, built into the burner.

Integrated Recuperator

The recuperator is incorporated within the burner assembly, reducing the need for a separate heat-recovery system.

Compact Installation

Flue-Gas Heat Recovery

Hot exhaust gases are used to preheat incoming combustion air, improving fuel efficiency.

Enhanced Energy Efficiency

Silicon Carbide Heat Exchanger

The heat exchanger is made using silicon carbide to improve efficiency and heat-exchanger life.

Reliable Furnace Performance

Grooved Heat-Exchange Surface

The grooved surface increases heat-transfer area, supporting better heat-exchanger performance.

Lower Operating Cost

Pulse Firing Mode

The burner operates in pulse firing mode, or ON/OFF control, for controlled furnace operation.

Reduced Emissions

Hydrogen-Ready Compatibility

The burner is positioned for applications transitioning towards cleaner hydrogen fuel pathways, subject to application requirements.

Cleaner Fuel Readiness
Application Fit

Built for furnaces where space and efficiency both matter.

Self Recuperative Burners are especially suited for heat treatment furnaces and other industrial heating applications where available space is limited.

They are useful where conventional regenerative burner systems cannot be easily installed, but where energy recovery and fuel reduction remain important.

Self Recuperative Burners

Working Principle

Recover. Preheat. Fire. Save.

The burner recovers heat from the exhaust side and transfers it to the combustion-air side through the integrated heat exchanger.

The incoming air is preheated before combustion, reducing the fuel required to achieve operating temperature.

Frequently Asked Questions

Have a specific question about our systems? Here are answers to some common enquiries.

Can SRBs be retrofitted to existing furnaces?

Yes, our standard SRB designs drop directly into most existing burner tiles without major structural modifications.

What fuels do they operate on?

They are compatible with natural gas, LPG, and various liquid fuels with specific customisations.

Do they require complex maintenance?

No, the dual-tube recuperator design is built for easy access. Routine maintenance can be performed without removing the entire burner assembly.
